A selection of air travel tips - under the new regulations
Here are some tips to help you keep your teeth clean in-flight as tothpaste will remain banned : * If you have a short flight, consider not eating during the flight to keep your teeth cleaner. * Bring sugarless chewing gum, which can help freshen your breath and dislodge food particles after a meal. * Bring dental floss, which is not a banned substance. * Do not brush with or drink the water that comes out of the airplane bathroom tap. The water in airline water tanks is notoriously unsanitary. It is better to get a cup of water from the flight crew and take it into the bathroom with you. This may be inconvenient, but it will help you to stay healthy! * Bring some pre-pasted disposable toothbrushes on board. The toothpaste on these brushes is a powder which is activated when it gets wet. * If you don't want to brush, consider using textured tooth wipes. | Although the rules have been relaxed: If you need to take medication on board - specifically if liquid - have a prescription ready for inspection - Make sure the medication is in original container with an unbroken seal - Allow even more time. If
you wear CONTACTS - you can take the empty container on board - but no liquid
to reinsert them or keep them! LAPTOP's, PDA's, DVD player- check with your insurance as these may not be covered when traveling in the hold. Note serial number seperately. MOBILES / HANDY's - Secure with a pin code - If you can take the card / sim out - store seperately and note serial number. Make very sure they are switched off when boarding - It is expensive when a plane has to return due to a ringing phone.
| You don't have to starve...... Passengers will be able to purchase items from the departures lounge once they have passed through security and carry these onto the aircraft. However, if you are travelling to the USA, you will be able to purchase goods for consumption in the airport but no additional items, other than those on the list, can be carried onto the aircraft. These passengers will be subject to a secondary search at the departure gate before boarding. Any items not on the approved list will be removed. Tip: If the arrivals or departure
